MindField Schedule
In the MindField Arena throughout the weekend:
Alice in Wonderland.
Following the spectacular success of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (July 2008), Animal Farm (August 2009) and Macbeth (April 2010) Upstart Theatre Company is delighted to be bringing their brand new production of Lewis Carroll’s cherished classic ALICE IN WONDERLAND from Ravensdale, Dundalk, to the Electric Picnic!
ALICE IN WONDERLAND is one of the finest children’s books ever written, and Upstart has sought to capture its humour, vibrancy and fun in a way that would appeal as much to those who read the book fifty years ago as to the kids today who might only have ever seen the movie. This highly interactive, unique show is a promenade piece, meaning the audience will be totally transported into the crazy world of Wonderland as Alice leads them from scene to scene.
Featuring the trademark high energy, physical style that the company has become known for, and performed by a stellar ensemble cast, this show is certain to be one of the theatrical highlights of the summer.
So whatever you do, don’t be late for this very important date! Upstart invite you and all the family to join Alice’s adventures – come follow the White Rabbit, drink tea with the Mad Hatter, play croquet with the Queen of Hearts, and meet many more fantastic characters in a spectacular show that will delight and entertain audiences of all ages. Running time: 60mins approx.

First, find the metallic contact points hidden throughout the Science Gallery Tent. Next, grab your friends - or any nearby body - to create a human chain and connect the points to complete the sound-generating circuit. Different contact points trigger various sounds throughout the tent, creating an interactive environment of elaborate soundscapes. To explore the sonic options adjust the length of the chain and the people in it then hear how it affects the sound…and just for funsies, adjust your level of flesh on flesh contact to vary the total resistance of the wire and mutate the audio even further!
