  1. Perhaps David might like to stand at the forthcoming election after the Greens take fright at politicaL annihilation…
I suggest he follows his humble origins and joins The Irish Labour Party

  4. Yes, we do need such reform now, based on the Arab proverb of “Trust in God. But tie your camel.”
The governing classes (elected and appointed) need to have their scope for excess limited by a whole series of checks and balances which we, citizens of a republic, can operate at our behest - not on those occassions when the great and the good deem is proper to consult us!

  5. No-el, No-el, No-el, No-o-o-elle please bring us the new beginnings that your name promises and all is forgiven - well maybe not all (like the overspend on the port tunnel, the non-linking Luas line, the National Carpark, Dublin Airport) but gee thanks for the M1 to the North!

  6. Noel will be cycling to the gig of course, stress testing one of our new free bikes

“Although there are severe constraints on Exchequer funding at the moment, I am convinced that investment in cycling represents excellent value for the tax payer,” said Dempsey.

In addition, the Minister recently announced his support for strategic initiatives aimed at underpinning the new vision for cycling:

    · He committed to publishing draft national guidelines for a cycle design manual this year
    · He undertook to provide funding to Galway City Council to deliver a walking and cycling strategy for that city.

ffs - a walking and cycling strategy for Galway - this will probably have to be put out to tender

  7. When MetroNorth is cancelled, the money having been wasted on toxic banks, will the Greens have to walk???

    I’ll get me coat!

  8. Ireland has needed ‘Radical Poitical Reform’ for many, many years. It’s largely because it didn’t get it that we have arrived at our present sorry state (no pun intended).
